Today, January 19th is National Popcorn Day. Popcorn is one of my favorite snacks. Luckily, becoming Vegan has not had much of an affect on my popcorn consumption, except at the movie theater.
Movie theater popcorn, even when butter is not added upon customer’s request, still may contain dried butter or butter salt. However, according to VegNews, some hipster movie theaters have Vegan-friendly popcorn. AMC Theaters, one of the more popular chains, is included in that group. So whenever we go to the movies as a family and the person behind the counter seems dubious about the origin of their popcorn, instead of opting out on what I consider to be a staple amongst moviegoers, I opt to smuggle in my own Vegan option (just in case).
In honor of National Popcorn Day, I decided to share the latest option that is my “go to” for movie theater contraband and the latest WVL Stuff I Love inductee.
Mixed Berry flavored BOOMCHICKABITES, by Angie’s Artisan Treats, LLC is the perfect way to enjoy that popcorn crunch and satisfy your sweet tooth. Mimicking the flavor of kettle corn, these popcorn clusters have blueberry, raspberry and cranberry morsels generously stacked onto ancient grain popcorn.
Not only are these delicious bundles gluten-free and use simple, non-GMO ingredients, a single serving is just 110 calories.
So if you’re headed to the movies and you’re not sure if the popcorn is Vegan-friendly, smuggle this in. Your family will probably ditch their bucket to join you in eating yours.
