Every once in a while, I like to take a moment to show my gratitude for eateries that offer its patrons with what I consider to be all-inclusive menu items based on individual dietary preferences. So whether you’re a Vegan, Vegetarian, have a gluten-sensitivity or tree nut allergy, they take the time to gain your trust and business by alleviating some of the social constraints often associated with rigid dietary choices.
Those restaurants will receive a EP4L High-5 for their commitment to providing Vegan options. Whether you are on the path to a plant-based diet or seeking to improve your health by means of cutting back on dairy and/or meat, supporting these restaurants will not only send a clear message to continue to provide such items, but ultimately make other eateries take notice of what we want to see on our plates.
This week, I am giving a EP4L High-5 to Chipotle Mexican Grill.
What I Like:
Chipotle uses non-GMO ingredients that are mostly organic, without sacrificing on taste or draining my wallet – unless I go there everyday for weeks (which I have been known to do). It’s a place where Vegans and Omnivores can eat in harmony.
What I Love:
The Chipotle Motto which, unlike many food establishments, is posted and can be seen the moment you step into the 1800+ chain restaurant. Their claim? Chipotle says that they provide “food with integrity.” They are committed to providing quality, fresh, and locally grown ingredients without artificial anything and produced with respect to their sustainability to the environment. If a particular item on the menu is in jeopardy of threatening that commitment, they simply take that item off of their menu, until they ‘re able to retain surety of that item’s integrity.
What I Really Love:
The Vegan choices they offer make a trip to Chipotle easy. I can order a Sofritas (organic, braised and marinated Tofu) Bowl, Salad, Burrito or Tacos with a slew of Vegan-friendly toppings like black or pinto beans, cilantro-lime white or brown rice, fajita veggies, roasted chili-corn corn salsa, tomato salsa, Vegan guacamole, etc.
The next time you’re itchin’ to eat out, but you want to be responsible and proactive about what you put on your family’s plate, visit Chipotle and don’t forget to try the guac!
